Firefighters were able to rescue two women from a house fire in Gwinnett County. One of those women is pregnant.
Crews were called to the large, two-story home on the Harmony Grove Road in Lilburn Wednesday at about 10:15 a.m. When they arrived, they found the two women trapped on the second floor in heavy smoke.
The women were able to flag down firefighters from a window when their trucks pulled up.
Firefighters propped a ladder to the side of the home and the women were able to climb down to safety.
They were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for minor smoke inhalation.
Investigators determined the fire started in the basement of the home. The exact cause is still undetermined.
