Quitman police officer sentenced for misdemeanor

Posted: Updated:
QUITMAN, GA (WALB) -

A Quitman police officer was sentenced Monday on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct conviction.

Chief ADA Brad Shealy said Officer Ivan Davis had to pay a $500 fine, got 12 months probation, 40 hours of community service, and has been ordered to have no contact with the deputy involved.

Davis shoved a Brooks County sheriff's deputy in November while they were making an arrest.

Davis was fired, but later re-instated by the city council.
