Two people were killed Thursday night after their tractor-trailer crashed and caught fire on I-20 in Carroll County.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the tractor-trailer and a Cadillac SUV crashed after 7:30 p.m. while traveling eastbound on I-20 at the South Van Wert Road Bridge.
Both vehicles crossed the median and the tractor-trailer hit a bridge pillar and caught fire, according to police.
The two people in the cab of the tractor-trailer died in the crash, and two people in the SUV were transported to the hospital.
Two additional vehicles were driving in the westbound lanes when they struck debris, causing damage to both vehicles.
