Anbiya Mitchell fought back tears as she listened to the 911 call she made the night prosecutors said 18-year-old Demetrius Morgan and four of his alleged gang members killed Mitchell's stepfather, Jerrick Jackson, 47.

Mitchell was upstairs when she heard the shots, so she ran downstairs and that's when she saw Jackson struggling to breath and blood all over his body.

He had just been shot four times. What Mitchell did not know, at the time, is that Jackson was shot when he tried to keep four armed teenagers from getting to her.

"They kept trying to go upstairs. He kept saying, 'we ain't got nothing. Our daughter is up there she is sleep,'" said Jackson fiancee Kimberly Little. "They kept trying to take him up the stairs. The next thing I know I heard the guns and I saw him falling."

Little said she and Jackson met at work. She drives a train and he was a conductor.

They had just returned home on May 7, 2013, when, according to police four teenagers armed with guns ambushed, robbed and then forced them inside their home.

Police said Morgan was the driver. Little could not identify their attackers because they wore masks, but she could tell they were young.

"I remember thinking, when I saw the gun, to myself they're trying to rob us with their pants hanging down on their butts," said Little.
