Kristian Bush addresses crowd at conference on volunteering

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Grammy Award-winning musician and Atlanta resident Kristian Bush was a keynote speaker Wednesday at a national conference on volunteering.

The 2014 Conference on Volunteering and Service was held Monday through Wednesday at the Georgia World Congress Center.

The conference by Points of Light brings together thousands of leaders from nonprofits, business and government with a goal of building a more powerful, vibrant volunteer sector.

Points of Light – the world's largest organization dedicated to volunteer service – mobilizes millions of people to take action that is changing the world. Through affiliates in 250 cities and partnerships with thousands of nonprofits and corporations, Points of Light engages more than 4 million volunteers in 30 million hours of service each year.

Bush, best known for being one half of the duo Sugarland, was featured Wednesday on Better Mornings Atlanta. He spoke about one of his favorite organizations, Global Citizen, which encourages stewardship in exchange for concert tickets for music fans who can't afford them.
