Gym thieves pictured on surveillance video

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The crime was as brief as it was brazen.

Two men walked into Urban Body Studios on Ponce de Leon place in northeast Atlanta Thursday night and cleaned out the front desk while the gym was still open.

"There were still people in the building, there were still people going in and out," said Rad Slough, the gym's owner.

An employee left the front desk just before 8:30 p.m. to go to a back room. While he was away, two crooks calmly and casually went to work.

"They're in no hurry, they didn't care," Slough said.

A man wearing a white shirt appeared to tell a man in a dark shirt to grab the laptop at the front desk.

The leader went behind the desk, grabbed some payroll slips, started to leave, but decided he was not finished.

The thief went behind the desk a second time and tried to unlock the cash register, but could not, so he just takes the whole cash drawer.

"Metal casing and everything, walked off with it," slough said.

Another surveillance camera caught a small grayish car as it drove up the driveway.

The thieves did all that work for a relatively small payoff.

"They only got $100," Slough said.

The thieves drove off in a gray or silver, 4-door hatchback, with a  black roof.

Police said one man wore a white T-shirt with a purple full-brimmed hat. The other wore a purple T-shirt with a ball cap.
