Shaw Industries Group announced Monday that they are expanding their reclamation and recycling program, including a new evergreen facility in Ringgold. This project will create at least 70 new jobs and invest more than $17 million into the area.
Shaw is a leading carpet and manufacturing company headquartered in Dalton.
Evergreen Ringgold will recycle old carpets into a post-consumer recycled material that can be used by a variety of items.
"Evergreen Ringgold expands our efforts to keep end-of-use carpet out of landfills," said Paul Murray, who is Shaw's Vice President of Sustainability and Environmental Affairs. "By expanding our recycling portfolio, we are illustrating our continued commitment to converting something that historically may have been seen as waste into a resource that has a longer life in the economy."
Shaw already employs 15,000 people working at locations throughout the state.
