Georgia Grown campaign kicks off

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black is touring farmers markets across the state this week. With stops in Atlanta, Snellville, Gainesville and Forest Park, the clear message is to "buy Georgia."

At the Sweet Auburn Farmer's Market, it's a place our state is heavily depending upon to spread the "Georgia Grown" campaign, which is designed to bring in local customers and to expand the "buy local" program.

About $77 billion in economic impact comes from Georgia's food industry with about $30 million generated at local farmers markets alone.
