CBS46 traveled to the city of East Point this week to question a restaurant that has failed twice during the past year.
The manager hid her face with her hand, but was not able to hide her health inspection score.
East Point Corner Tavern at 2783 Main St. scored 53 points and a "U" for unsatisfactory on June 18, 2014. The cook was not wearing gloves, there was food with mold-like growth in the cooler and there was slime in the ice machine.
"Do you have slime in the ice machine?" CBS46's Adam Murphy asked.
"We do not," the East Point Corner Tavern manager said.
"That's what it says on the report," Murphy said.
"It does, but we do not," the manager said.
Not only did the manager disagree with the inspection report, she didn't agree with the idea of explaining the situation on camera.
"I cannot answer your questions," the manager said.
And right before she asked us to leave, she did answer this question.
"Can you assure us everything has been corrected? Murphy asked.
"Yes, we are doing everything we can to get everything up to code," the manager said.
Now to some good scores.
Campfire Grill at Stone Mountain Park in DeKalb County scored 94 points.
In Gwinnett County, China Hall at 1935 Buford Mill Dr. in Buford picked up 96 points and an "A."
In Cobb County, J. Christopher's at 1205 Johnson Ferry Rd. in Marietta received a 96.
Our featured restaurant of the week is Six Feet Under at 685 11th Street in Midtown Atlanta. It's some of the best seafood in the city and their rooftop patio has the best view in Atlanta bar none. Plus, they received a solid "A" on their health inspection.
