Brookhaven police release video of car suspected in shooting

BROOKHAVEN, GA (CBS46) -

Brookhaven police have released surveillance video of a car suspected of being used in a shooting June 23.

The shooting occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Green Meadows Lane.

Police said a passenger in a silver or gold small passenger car slowly drove north on Green Meadows Lane, stopped in front of the 2600 block of Green Meadows Lane and fired shots into a home.

At least two shots were fired in to the home, which was occupied at the time.

The vehicle then began to speed away as a neighbor ran after witnessing the shooting. The vehicle came to a stop again and fired at least one shot at the witness before fleeing at a high rate of speed.

No one was injured as a result of this shooting.

At this point, investigators believe that this was either a random act or the suspect intended to target another location and mistakenly fired shots in to this house.

Brookhaven police responded to another shooting on Tuesday afternoon sometime around 5:30. Witnesses reported that someone fired a gunshot from a silver passenger car on Cravenridge Drive.

No one was injured and no damage could be located in the area.

Anyone with information on the shootings or the vehicle shown is asked to contact the Brookhaven Police Department at 404-637-0600 or their tip line at 404-637-0636.

Anonymous tips may also be made through Crime Stoppers Atlanta by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.
