A former Kennesaw mayor has been arrested and charged with child molestation.

According to a news release from Cobb County police, 66-year-old Leonard Church was charged with two counts of child molestation and is currently being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

According to police, a 9-year-old boy told his parents he was shown porn on a computer and molested at a home in the 2600 block of Dreux Court in Kennesaw.

Church was arrested after the investigation.

The warrant states Church "stroked the boy's penis."

Church is currently a city councilman, according to the city of Kennesaw.

Current mayor Mark Mathews told CBS46 in an email, "We were extremely saddened to hear of the charges and ultimate arrest of council member Church. This is a very sensitive, active and ongoing investigation being conducted by Cobb County PD and their Crimes against Children Division."
