SACRAMENTO, CA -

The University of Arizona Wildcat track and field program had two athletes earn medals at the 2014 USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships on Sunday in Sacramento, Calif.

For the second-straight year, Georganne Moline (UA '13) earned a runner-up finish at the USA Championships in the 400-meter hurdles. In the women's high jump competition, six-time NCAA Champion Brigetta Barrett (UA '13) took third place overall with a clearance of 6-3.25 (1.91m).

Moline, a 2012 Olympian and Pac-12 Champion for the Wildcats, clocked a season-best time of 54.00 which ranks as the No. 3 time in the world on the year.

The volunteer assistant coach for the Track Cats really started to push the pace at the fifth hurdle and managed to clear the troublesome seventh hurdle with ease. Moline finished behind former Stanford Cardinal Kori Carter, who clocked a time of 53.84 which is No. 1 in the world.

"I'm super proud of her," head coach Fred Harvey and Moline's personal coach said. "It's been a long, drawn out season for her. She's been trying to overcome some demons from falling at the 2013 IAAF World Championships and we've just really been getting back to the basics. She's stronger and faster and all those good things. I'm so proud of her mental resiliency, she was second in the race but as far as I'm concerned that was a win. She can now move on with her season and do great things."

Barrett could not successfully defend her title from the 2013 USA Championships but she was able to battle through nearly 100-degree temperatures and take third place. Barrett won the women's high jump at the USA Championships in 2011 and 2013 as well as earning the silver medal at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials.

"I'm really proud of our representation at USA Championships," Harvey said. "We had 10 people that represented the program here and that's one of the largest camps in the country at this meet. If you look at how they all performed, a champion, a couple silver medals and a bronze medal, you have to be really excited with what we are doing in track and field at Arizona."

On June 28 in Nivelles, Belgium, Lawi Lalang began his professional career with a win in the men's 1,500-meter race with a time of 3:40.22.
