Marietta police are investigating an accident that resulted in a man being flown to the hospital Monday evening.
According to a news release from the department, 40-year-old Abdoul Tamba was driving a pickup truck north on I-75 between Delk Road and South Marietta Parkway when he quickly switched lanes and crashed into a tractor-trailer.
Authorities said Tamba made the sudden lane change just after 6 p.m. because traffic stopped in front of him.
Tamba was seriously injured in the crash, according to authorities, and flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. He was in serious but stable condition as of Monday night.
