DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Three people were shot and one of them was killed early Tuesday morning in what DeKalb County police believe was an attempted robbery.

It happened on Browns Mill Ferry Drive.

DeKalb County Police Sgt. Steven Dean said a neighbor called 911 around 3:15 a.m. to report hearing numerous gunshots.

Police responded and found three men shot. They were inside and outside of a car parked in the middle of the road.

One person died at the hospital and the other two are in critical condition. Police have identified the deceased as 16-year-old Delray Crittenden.

A fourth person was taken into custody.

Dean said they were unsure if the people injured were the victims or suspects: "At this time, we don't know the full story, and we don't want to speculate. This case is still under investigation."
