Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS46) -

If you're looking for the best burger to chow down on over the Fourth of July weekend, look no further than The Vortex at 438 Moreland Ave. in Atlanta's Little Five Points. They've been around 22 years and their burgers are enormous. The Triple Coronary Bypass is the largest burger on their menu and the largest one we've ever seen. Plus, they received an "A" on their health inspection.

When it comes to hot dogs, The Varsity is an Atlanta institution that picked up an "A" on their health inspection. They've been serving some of the best hot dogs in the city for 86 years at 61 North Ave. Every day they make two miles of hot dogs from scratch. People come from all over the world to enjoy the food and The Varsity is not only popular with customers, they have a very loyal staff. An employee named Luther has been a car hop at their drive-in for more than 40 years. The Atlanta location claims to have the world's largest drive-in which can accommodate 600 cars. That's a lot of hot dogs!

Finally, our search for great American food took us all the way to Pallookaville. This unique spot at 17 North Avondale Rd. in Avondale Estates is known for their world famous corn dogs, full service soda fountain and delicious desserts. Pallookaville received a near perfect score on their health inspection.
