Abducted by parents, missing brothers return home

Nona Gamble threw a party for her four young grandsons. She wasn't celebrating a birthday or a graduation. She was just happy six-year-old Anthony, four-year-old Zymeer, 3-year-old Jeremiah and two-year-old Osiyrus safely came home after disappearing for days.

"It was scary, I thought I wasn't going to see them again," Gamble said.

Late last month, Gamble's son, Anthony Leavell and the boys' mother, Sasha Delaney, took their kids one Saturday afternoon.

Gamble said the boys' parents told her they were going around the corner to a cookout in Riverdale. Instead, they left town.

"It was a desperate act. Never said anything, it was just, those are my kids," Gamble said.

The problem is Gamble has legal custody of the boys. Gamble said Leavell and Delaney lost their sons because of domestic problems.

Gamble and her daughter Tiffany Smith, who is the boys' aunt, frantically called Leavell and Delaney to find out where they went.

"I never got an answer until the news was out," Smith said.

Someone finally got through, told the parents about the news reports and that police were looking for them.

"A sigh of relief, I knew they were still safe and they were going to be OK," Smith said.

The parents took the boys to Indiana. Gamble and Smith said the parents never gave a clear reason.

"I still want to know why. I still need clarification on why all of this," Smith said.

The most important thing is the boys are home where they belong.

"I got so many hugs and kisses and hugs. They've been hugging me ever since," Gamble said.
