MCLEAN CO., KY (WFIE) -

The driver of a semi-truck was taken to the hospital after his truck caught on fire at a gas station in Western Kentucky.

This happened at the Valero gas station off Highway 431 in Livermore.

Witnesses say they heard several loud booms right before the truck went up in flames.

Numerous emergency crews from the area were called out to the scene.

Officials with the Livermore Fire Department say the driver escaped but did sustain moderate burns.

Several gas station pumps were charred and witnesses say they got lucky the whole business didn't explode.
