DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Following an overnight police chase, DeKalb County police took one suspect into custody wanted in a deadly shooting.

A man in his 20s was shot and killed at the Wesley Club Apartments in the 4000 block of Wesley Club Drive in Decatur around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police on the scene, the victim was shot by someone in an SUV full of people, which fled the scene.

About an hour later and just a few miles away, police spotted the SUV, a black Chevrolet Avalanche, and began chasing it.

The chase ended when the vehicle wrecked in Atlanta at Macedonia Road and Browns Mill Road. No one was injured. Police took one suspect into custody.

"The vehicle we did pursue was also stolen, so he's looking at potential theft by receiving charges as well," said DeKalb County Police Lt. John Medina.

Names of the suspect and shooting victim were not immediately released. Police did not release a motive either.
