A man shot and killed in Atlanta's Virginia Highland neighborhood has been identified as Kilon Williams according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office.
The shooting happened at 755 Maiden Lane, behind The Real Chow Baby Restaurant on Ponce de Leon Ave., although the scene was not on the business' property or related to it.
Atlanta police said Williams, 24, was shot at least once in the torso. He was dead when police arrived.
Officers found him around 2:30 a.m., collapsed inside a sedan. They said multiple gunshots were fired and that he was likely struck outside of the vehicle.
One man, Josh Litton, said he heard five gunshots and was first on the scene. "I saw a guy who was kind of trying to shake him back to life, but he ended up running away, and he didn't stick around very long. He was out of there pretty fast, so I think that might be who (police) are looking for at this point."
Police did not immediately have a motive or know how many suspects were involved.
"Based on the time, most likely there were other people in proximity, so we are asking if anybody has any information to call police or call Crimestoppers and pass that information on," said Capt. Paul Guerrucci with the Atlanta Police Department.
Williams was from the Atlanta area.
