New venue teaches children how to drive safely

NORCROSS, GA (CBS46) -

It's never too early to learn the rules of the road. That's the idea behind a new concept called Tiny Towne, which opened last month in Norcross.

Tiny Towne is just what its name implies. It's a miniature "city," complete with small cars, street signs, stop lights and a little train. Kids drive the cars throughout the simulated city. The ones who don't follow the rules get "tickets."

Creators say the idea is to give children practical skills while educating them on traffic laws and etiquette, all in a fun, interactive and safe environment.

Tiny Towne also offers field trips and hosts birthday parties.

Tiny Towne was featured Wednesday on Better Mornings Atlanta. Visitors who mention that they saw the story will get a $10 discount off of the $40 annual DIV membership. The offer is good through July 16, 2014.
