TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Authorities ask for the public’s help in locating a man and woman suspected of stealing groceries from a Walmart store.

The two suspects had a shopping cart full of items at the checkout counter at the Walmart Neighborhood Market in the 2800 block of W. Valencia Road on June 27. The cashier scanned the items, placed them in bags and the man put them in the cart, according to Pima County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Chris Nanos. The cashier left the checkout counter to check the price of an item that wouldn’t scan and the man left the store with the items and loaded them into a maroon van, Nanos said.

Sheriff’s officials said the female handed a gift card with no cash on it to the clerk at the checkout counter to pay for the groceries. While the clerk repeatedly tried the card, the female reportedly left the store, got into the maroon van and the two suspects left the area.

Anyone with information about the suspects is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
