A Putnam County woman has been arrested after allegedly abusing foster children in her care.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office started investigating Lynn Smith, 56, after receiving an email detailing the abuse, complete with video evidence.
"Sent a video, an attachment to an email, which was a video of a woman holding a child, forcibly holding a child's head down in a toilet while she was screaming at the child," said Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.
According to the sheriff, Smith allegedly abused five children, all siblings.
Sills' office contacted the Division of Family and Children Services and removed the children from Smith's home and arrested her.
Smith went before a judge on Tuesday and was released on bond. She's charged with felony cruelty to children, misdemeanor cruelty to children and simple battery.
