HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -
A man arrested for disorderly conduct on Hilton Head turned
into a whole lot more.
When police searched Dillon Clark, they found crack cocaine,
marijuana and prescription pills. However, it's not what the deputies found on
Clark, it's where they found them.
Before Clark was booked, Beaufort County Sheriff's Office
deputies searched him and found all of those drugs lodged underneath his
genitals, so they tacked on quite a few more charges.
According to the BCSO, a deputy saw Clark in a vehicle stop
abruptly about 50 yards from the intersection of William Hilton Parkway and
Gumtree Road. The deputy turned around to try and find the vehicle and saw it
parked in a handicap space at the convenience store.
When the deputy confronted Clark about parking in a handicap
space, he noticed Clark smelled of alcohol. Clark told the deputy he would get
a ride home, but then became aggressive and started shouting.
Clark was arrested for disorderly conduct, and on top of
that, while being transported, he continuously kicked the interior of the
patrol car, causing damage, so deputies added another charge. When he was
finally searched, deputies found the drugs lodged between his legs.
The incident has a lot of people talking.
"I was on my way to work when I saw all the deputies had the
guy pulled over right there," said Tiffany Holland.
"Desperation, that is what it was," said Charles Sells. "You
are going to jail for a long time, so you do whatever you can do to stay out of
jail. I mean, it's shocking, but I mean, some people may do it every day. It's
a little surprising for Hilton Head."
Clark has an extensive criminal record, having been arrested
over a dozen times. For his latest arrest, he is charged with disorderly
conduct, malicious injury to personal property, trafficking cocaine and
possession of controlled substances.
