LILBURN, GA (CBS46) -

Angela Rabotte's body was found in a wooded area of Lilburn on April 3. It then took more than three months to charge Charles Outlaw, 29, with murder.

Rabotte was reported missing on March 30. Police said the last person she was seen with was Outlaw. They attended a party together but she was not seen or heard from after meeting up with Outlaw.

"I definitely want to see justice in the case," Darrell Campbell said.

Campbell and Rabotte have a daughter together, Sharon. The two split up a few years ago but were raising the 3-year-old together.

"It is so sad," Campbell said. "Cause she (Sharon) asks questions. ‘When is mommy coming home? When is mommy coming out of the sky?' And I just don't know how to answer those questions."

Campbell said he never trusted Outlaw. Outlaw was arrested while helping search with family members for Rabotte's body.

"He was just the perfect criminal. I never had any doubt he was involved," Campbell said. "Because his stories never added up, even from the beginning."

Lilburn police said after an exhaustive investigation they were able to gather enough evidence to charge Outlaw with malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

"It is somewhat of a relief because we know we were on the right track from the beginning," Campbell said. "But, it doesn't make it better."

Sharon, or "Shay-Shay," as Campbell calls her, now has to grow up without a mom. The 3-year-old will turn 4 on July 20. Campbell said she keeps a picture on a locket of her mom around her neck. Campbell said it helps both of them cope with their loss.

"She makes me stronger every day, makes me smile," Campbell said.
