Church Hill community on edge after home invasion

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A violent home invasion this weekend in Richmond's East End now has officers on the hunt for four armed men.

It happened in the 1300 block of North 33rd Street. Police said the suspects were waving around guns and demanding money when one of three adult victims was struck in the face.

Marion Wilson's dog Roscoe is not too intimidating but he keeps her family safe. Having Roscoe around is even more comforting after four men armed with guns reportedly barged into a home near hers on Saturday.

Police said property was taken from three adult victims. One person was hit in the face. The four men fled on foot before possibly getting into two separate vehicles.

Luckily, Wilson and her family were not home when the invasion took place just few doors down.

As scary as it sounds, its not enough to frighten Wilson, who has lived in Church Hill for nearly 10 years.

"I'm not nervous, they should be nervous because like I said I've got God on my side," she said.

Despite this incident, Wilson says the Church Hill community is in fact a nice area. She says sometimes isolated incidents happen, and for that reason, neighbors need to stick together and look out for one another.

"When something happens and people see something, they need to report it. They really do, because it could happen to them," Wilson said.
