CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WWBT) -

Two men from central Virginia are behind bars in connection with a double stabbing in Charlottesville. Police have arrested Jarrett Talley, 20, of Louisa, and Michael Harlow, 22, of Goochland following a stabbing incident that was triggered by a thrown beer can.

The two victims were visiting friends in Charlottesville for the weekend when the party in their apartment took a turn for the worse.

"The people who got the can thrown at them came upstairs to our floor, knocked on the door and asked who threw the can," Robert Fottrell told Charlottesville NBC affiliate WVIR. Then the conversation quickly turned violent.

The attack left behind a bloody scene at the apartment complex. The two victims, both 19 and from Arlington, were taken to UVA Medical Center for treatment for multiple stab wounds.

Talley and Harlow are both charged with two counts of malicious wounding. They are being held in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
