Sandy Springs detectives arrested a woman after she allegedly left her child in the car.
Melissa Jackson was charged with reckless conduct after police were called regarding a child that was left in the car on July 13 at Lowe's on Roswell Road.
Witnesses called Sandy Springs police after seeing the child in the car, windows up, during the early afternoon. The temperature outside was 86 degrees.
Jackson left the store prior to the arrival of police. She was contacted Thursday and surrendered to detectives.
"We definitely want to hear her side of the story, see what happened," said Sgt. Ron Momon with the Sandy Springs police. "Even though it is a bad situation, we still allow her the opportunity to tell her side of the story."
The Cobb County Division of Family and Children Services is also involved in the case.
