Police release more details after I-20 shooting

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Atlanta police said a man who went to Grady Memorial Hospital with a gunshot to the chest is connected to the I-20 shooting which occurred Saturday, but officers are not saying how the man is connected.

Investigators said Tora Gordon claims several men carjacked him on Hightower Road.

A MARTA officer later saw those men running from Gordon's crashed car which was on fire. The Marta officer said the men ran and left in a red vehicle.

Inside Gordon's car police found an AK-47. They found another AK-47 next to his vehicle.

Officers said Gordon later reported the carjacking. They now want to know what took him so long to report the crime.

Records show Gordon is a convicted felon.

Police are not releasing details as to where on I-20 the shots were fired, but said at least one person was injured as he or she tried to avoid the incident on I-20.
