CONYERS, GA (CBS46) -

Conyers police have arrested a woman for allegedly running an illegal home care facility.

Police said Sharon Seats, 46, was housing two mentally challenged men and a woman in her home on Creek Forest Court in the Rockdale County city of Conyers.

"She was unlicensed," said Officer Kim Lucas. "You have to be licensed through the state of Georgia to operate a home care facility. She was managing their medications, and she was collecting monthly payments from these individuals."

Lucas said police were alerted to the facility when a patient called them after having a dispute with Seats. Investigators went to the home and uncovered the operation, along with numerous code violations.

Lucas said a patient told them they did not have power recently because Seats did not pay the bill.

"At that time one of her patients or clients said to the officer, 'I'm really glad you're shutting this down,'" said Lucas. "He even said he would go and stay at a local park during the daytime to avoid any conflict with Ms. Seats, and he would just basically go and sleep there at night."

Police said Seats told them she was a former nurse at a previous facility that had just closed out of Stone Mountain, so she brought three of the residents to her own personal home.

The three residents have been relocated to an appropriate facility, according to authorities.
