Parking at the Georgia Dome for the 2014 Falcons season

Posted: Updated:

If you plan on traveling to the Georgia Dome this season for a Falcons game, remember: a completely different, brand new stadium is being built right next door!

The Falcons are reminding football fans that ongoing construction could mean traffic tie-ups and parking problems this season.

There will be about 1,300 fewer parking spots because construction is taking place in what used to be four parking lots near the Dome.

Other travel notes include:

  • Georgia Dome Drive is closed to traffic, along with portions of Mitchell Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
  • Magnum Street was redesigned around the new stadium construction project.
  • The Spring Street bridge is being replaced, which results in the closure of Spring Street between MLK Drive and Marietta Street through November.

The Falcons say the best way to get to the Georgia Dome is by riding MARTA, which offers free parking at many lots and stops near the Dome.

Buy parking in advance

Another option for fans is to pre-purchase a parking pass to get a spot in an official Dome parking lot.
