ATLANTA (CBS46) -

A former City of Atlanta municipal court clerk pled guilty on Tuesday to stealing more than $80,000 in court fines for her personal use.

According to a news release from the Fulton County District Attorney, 26-year-old Airiel Wright pled guilty to one count of theft by taking.

She was sentenced to one year in prison, followed by 10 years of probation, according to the release.

Wright was responsible for taking court citation payments.

She was caught in July 2012 after a customer complained about receiving the wrong amount of change, according to the news release.

After a review of the complaint, authorities said they found that Wright manipulated the computer system to calculate cash payments for amounts smaller than what the customer would actually pay.

Authorities said Wright ended up pocketing $81,292.35 between July 2010 and July 2012.
