More than 300 people showed up Monday at Big Boss Brewery in Raleigh for the fifth annual Casks for a Cure.

The fundraiser benefits a different local charity each year and it just happens The ALS Association - Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter will benefit this year.

"The crazy thing is we planned this in April before that ever happened, so it's kind of a perfect storm of circumstances with the ice bucket challenge and this fundraiser,” said Michael Hayek with Casks for a Cure.

Ben Weese with Big Boss said the event raised more than $6,000.

Organizers originally wanted to raise at least $1,000.
