Restaurant Report Card: Two Atlanta restaurants busted by health department

CBS46 uncovered several health violations at two popular metro Atlanta restaurants this week.

Chipotle Mexican Grill at 2963 North Druid Hills Road in Atlanta failed a surprise health inspection with 60 points and a "U" for unsatisfactory. The report says an employee failed to wash their hands with soap. Plus, raw chicken was stored over uncovered cilantro in the cooler. DeKalb County inspectors also found sour cream, steak, rice, pulled pork, beans and shredded cheese at unsafe temperatures.

In Gwinnett County, Romano's Macaroni Grill at 1350 Scenic Highway in Snellville failed a surprise health inspection as well with 61 points and a "U." The report says portions of ready-to-eat chicken were contaminated by drippings from raw chicken which spilled onto the preparation counter. Plus, raw fish was stored directly above precooked pork. The report also states that multiple pasta sauces, sausage and meatballs were at unsafe temperatures.

Now to some good scores, Little Caesars at 1296 Highway 138 in Clayton County scored 90 points and an "A." In Fulton County, Jason's Deli at 5975 Roswell Road in Atlanta picked up 96 points and an "A." In Cobb County, China Dynasty at 3605 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta received 100 points and an "A."
