ATLANTA (CBS46) -

MARTA workers rallied after they said they have not received raises for eight years.

"When I started here at MARTA it was the place to work for," said Herman Stukes, a retired MARTA worker.

The workers said corporate executives have received raises, even through tough economic times.

"It's like we're working for the mafia," said Stukes.

Musicians from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra joined the rally after a seven week lockout.

The protestors said they took a 15 percent pay cut with the promise a lockout would not occur.

MARTA Spokesperson Lyle Harris released the following statement:

"MARTA is committed to working with the union to forge a new labor agreement that ensures meaningful wage increases for our represented employees and improved levels of transit service for our customers and other stakeholders."
