Lawyer asks for murder charges to be dismissed in hot car baby death

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The lawyer for Justin Ross Harris filed fifteen motions in the case involving the death of Harris' toddler.

Harris is accused of killing his 22-month-old son Cooper by leaving him in a hot car in Cobb County in June.

Among the motions filed by lawyer Maddox Kilgore is one asking that murder charges against Harris be dismissed. Kilgore is also requesting for the murder and sexting charges to be tried separately.

The lawyer has also challenged three search warrants and some electronics seized during one of the searches.
