COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

The bodies of a woman and her three children were found inside a Cobb County apartment complex on Tuesday morning.

Cobb County police were called to Walton Crossing Apartments on Mulkey Road in unincorporated Austell just before 10 a.m.

They found the body of 35-year-old Kisha Holmes dead inside the apartment. Her 9-month-old infant daughter, along with her 4-year-old and 10-year-old son were also found dead.

Police said Holmes killed her children and then took her own life. A cause of death has not been determined and will not be released until the autopsy is finished.

People who live in the community told CBS46 they got a letter from the apartment complex management stating that a family had been lost in the community and were sorry for their loss.

"I actually woke up this morning to the maintenance man knocking on the door he came outside running down the steps, that is about all," Rashan Johnson said.

Johnson said he lived across the hall from Holmes and never noticed anything out of the ordinary. Johnson did say she was quiet and kept to herself.

Management from the apartment complex released the following statement:

"Walton Communities management is grieving for the family involved in this tragic situation, and our thoughts and sincerest condolences are with their loved ones. We will work to support the Walton Crossing community as its members process the news.Police are currently investigating the domestic incident that took place at Walton Crossing in Austell. Since the matter is still under investigation, please direct any questions to the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3945."
