Another video released of alleged animal abuse from trainer

ATLANTA (CBS46) - CBS46 has obtained disturbing new video of a trainer allegedly abusing dolphins in Spain. The video allegedly shows Jose Barbero hitting dolphins with some kind of object. Barbero is a consultant to the Georgia Aquarium, tapped to be the Senior Vice President.

Barbero has been missing since Tuesday.

The International Marine Animal Trainers Association (IMATA)  released the new video on March 4th.

We first told you about the allegations in February. IMATA says they released the new video to show the images are not fake. The original video was questioned by the Georgia Aquarium.

"The real issue is somebody like that doesn't belong in the arena of training," said Alan Frankel.

Frankel and his wife, Sandy, were going to the Georgia Aquarium when they stopped and watched the video.

"It sounds like the board, or whoever is responsible for the hiring decision hasn't vetted this person properly," said Frankel.

The video shows what appears to be dolphins getting hit with an object.

The Georgia Aquarium told CBS46 on Friday that they have several agencies analyzing the video and have hired a former FBI agent to look into the claims.

The Georgia Aquarium released the following statement from Chairman and CEO Mike Leven:

"Our search for truth into the allegations against Jose Luis Barbero continues. Until our investigation is complete, we will not make any decisions regarding his employment, so at this time, Mr. Barbero remains in Spain."

The organization said they are also very concerned about Barbero's disappearance.

“We hope he turns up soon and that everything is all right. Our thoughts are with him and his family,” said Leven.
