Surveillance video shows armed gunmen robbing Jonesboro

JONESBORO, GA (CBS46) - Jonesboro police released surveillance video of a violent armed robbery that took place Thursday afternoon at Domino's in Jonesboro on Tara Boulevard.

Cameras show two suspects entered the store with guns drawn. The robbers forced two workers and two customers, a mother and her teenage son, into a freezer. They then held a third employee at gunpoint and ordered her to open the store's safe.

"The guy in the red sweatshirt, after the assistant manager explained that the safe was on a time delay, he told her or threatened her, if it didn't open within 15 minutes, 'I will shoot you,'" said Sgt. Brad Fair.

Police said they believe this wasn't the suspects first armed robbery.

“They're very aggressive," said Pair. "The one in the red looks experienced, like he's done this before. The victims inside with the witnesses said the guy kept telling the other guy, 'Do not touch this or touch that because they can get fingerprints.'"

Police said they were fortunate that a worker locked in the freezer had a cell phone and could call 911. However, by the time police arrived, the pair had fled, likely in a getaway car. They took an undisclosed amount of money.

Investigators noted one suspect was wearing a distinctive red sweatshirt with the word "Trojans" in white letters.

They ask anyone who saw anything unusual in the area between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to call authorities.

“If it continues, they might get braver and actually shoot somebody," said Pair.
