The Atlanta Dream fell back under the .500 mark after losing to the New York Liberty 82-73.
The Dream started off slow and trailed New York 51-38 at halftime.
Atlanta lost despite 27 points by Angel McCoughtry. Tiffany Hayes also scored 17 points for the Dream, who fell to 1-2 on the season.
Four Liberty players scored in double figures, led by Tina Charles' 17. Charles added 12 rebounds.
The Dream shot just 36 percent from the floor.
Atlanta is right back at it for the home opener on Sunday. The Dream will play host to the Connecticut Sun at Philips Arena at 3 p.m.
