Thousands of music lovers are attending Music Midtown at Piedmont Park in Atlanta.

The music festival originally began in 1994 and was held until 2005 before taking a 6-year hiatus. The festival reconvened in 2011.

There are three tiers of ticket pricing; General Admission at $156, VIP at $600, and Super VIP at $1,200.

Among the artists performing are Elton John, Drake, Sam Smith, Van Halen, and Lenny Kravitz.

"Every year we strive to take the festival to a new level and this year is certainly no exception,” said Peter Conlon, President of Live Nation Atlanta. “With the addition of a fourth stage and this year's stellar line-up, I think we have done it again!"

Last year, Music Midtown generated an economic impact of $50,000,000 within the city of Atlanta over the two-day concert weekend, a number that is expected to grow again this year.
