Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of the late singer Whitney Houston and entertainer Bobby Brown, has died at age 22.

The family of Bobbi Kristina issued this statement:

"Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, surrounded by family.  She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these past months."

“Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable," said Bobby Brown upon the loss of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. “We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl.”

The 22-year-old was was found face down in a bathtub January 31, by her boyfriend Nick Gordon and another friend.

She was rushed to North Fulton Hospital where family and friends stayed by her side. Brown was placed in a medically induced coma.

Brown's mother, Whitney Houston, passed away three years ago on Feb. 11, 2012. The Grammy Award-winning singer was found unresponsive in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Hollywood, CA, on the eve of the Grammy Awards.

According to a coroner's report, she accidentally drowned. Heart disease and cocaine use were listed as contributing factors.

Brown's body arrived at the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office late Sunday evening. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of her death.

The following statement was released by the Fulton County Medical Examiner.

"The death of Bobbi Kristina Brown has been reported to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office in accordance with state death investigation laws requiring investigation of known or suspected non-natural deaths. Because the events at her home leading to her death occurred in Fulton County (Roswell), her death has been reported to the Fulton County Medical Examiner for determination of the cause, manner, and circumstances of death. Despite the long interval between her being found unresponsive and her death, an autopsy will still be necessary to further evaluate possible causes of death or contributing factors.

The time which has elapsed between the initial event on January 31st and her resulting death will complicate reconstruction of the events surrounding her initial unresponsiveness. Interpretation of autopsy findings and other information will also be challenging. However, an autopsy could be helpful to address questions which may arise about the cause of her unresponsiveness and eventual death.

No further information will be available from the Fulton County Medical Examiner at this time, and additional lab testing may take several weeks. The Roswell Police Department continues its investigation into the circumstances preceding and surrounding the time of the original incident leading to her death."

Houston left her entire estate to Bobbi Kristina, to be paid in installments until she is 30. It was thought that on Jan. 9, 2014, Bobbi Kristina married Nick Gordon, who had lived with her and her family since he was 12 because his mother was unable to care for him.

However, Bobby Brown's attorney released a statement saying the two were never actually married.

There are reports that Brown will be buried alongside her mother, Whitney Houston, in New Jersey.
