Water back on at Buckhead apartments, after 20 hour outage

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Hundreds of residents and several business owners went without water for more than 20 hours over the weekend.

Those living at The Reserve at La Vista apartments, said they first noticed they had no water around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.

“I went to go brush my teeth and the water wasn’t working,” said resident Monica Berry.

She said she was forced to shower at her gym Sunday afternoon. She was one of several residents who picked up a gallon of water at the apartment’s leasing office.

Atlanta’s watershed management company dropped off boxes of water for neighbors, as they worked to fix the problem.

For much of the day, the city’s water department said they didn’t know why residents weren’t getting water. After checking every valve on Cheshire Bridge Road between Lavista Road and Piedmont Road, crews found an issue with one of the valves.

The water was turned back on Sunday night.
