The Atlanta Gladiators have dropped four out of the past five games after being shut out by the South Carolina Stingrays 3-0 Saturday night.
The Gladiators lost despite out-shooting the Stingrays 39-27.
Mark Dekanich stopped all 39 shots he faced and three different skaters lit the lamp as the Stingrays extended their third-place lead over Atlanta to 3 points.
The Stingrays sit at 8-6-1-1 (18) and are six points behind first-place Florida in the ECHL's South Division. Atlanta falls to 7-6-1 (15) and are just two points ahead of Greenville for fourth-place in the division.
Both teams were a combined 0-10 on the man-advantage.
Atlanta is right back in action Monday night when they travel to Greenville to take on the Swamp Rabbits. Atlanta will look to extend their lead over Greenville and hopefully close the gap with South Carolina. The Stingrays are off until Tuesday, when they travel to take on the Orlando Solar Bears.
Atlanta also plays Tuesday. They'll return home to host the Manchester Monarchs, who are two points behind first-place Adirondack in the ECHL's East Division.
