College Park man waits over a year for water repair

Posted: Updated:
COLLEGE PARK, GA (CBS46) -

Chris Lynch gets a water bill every month for the exact same amount.  It's around 30 dollars.  It's not a bad arrangement.  So why is the College Park homeowner upset?

"It's been a long time", Lynch told CBS46's Harry Samler.

Lynch is unhappy because of the big hole the city dug in his front yard.  In September 2014 he reported a water leak.  He says it took Atlanta Watershed a year to fix it.  The city stopped the leak but never reconnected the meter.

On Monday morning Lynch told Harry "I just want it back the way it was".

By Tuesday afternoon the water department was on scene.  A spokesman told Harry that the meter was there but was never reconnected.  The city made the repair, removed four cones they had left behind and filled the hole.  Lillian Govus with Atlanta Watershed said workers will put down new sod for Mr. Lynch this spring.
