Patchy black ice expected in the mountains

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Most of the winter weather is moving out of north Georgia. Expect some spotty flurries or sleet in the mountains with spotty showers in Atlanta this evening.

Alerts

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the mountains through 1 a.m. Thursday. Even through the precipitation is moving out, areas of patchy black ice will be possible in the mountains tonight.

The advisory is in effect for Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Gordon, Lumpkin, Murray, Pickens, Towns, Union, Walker, White and Whitfield counties. 

Metro Atlanta is not included in the advisory. 

State of emergency issued

Gov. Nathan Deal has issued a state of emergency for Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Chatooga, Whitfield, Murray, Gordon, Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Pickens, Dawson, Lumpkin and White counties.
