CARTERSVILLE, GA (CBS46) -

The Bartow County Sheriff's office said Tuesday a teacher whose body was found died from accidential injuries.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said their preliminary investigation revealed Scott Salter died from accidental injuries.

The news follows a Coroner's Office announcement they'd found Salter's body, after he went missing. Salter was a teacher at Cass High School in Cartersville and did not show up for work on Monday, according to authorities.

Authorities said Salter's body was found overnight in a secluded area of rough terrain off the path of Cooper Furnace Trail. The sheriff's office said they found Salter's car in the parking lot of the trail, where they said he likes to hike alone.
