Students back in class, after explosion

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (CBS46) -

Many students at Georgia Gwinnett College headed back to class Monday morning.

Building A was shut down for a week after an explosion in a women’s bathroom left an employee injured. The two affected bathrooms are still closed.

Students said they weren’t allowed to physically sit in the classroom, but still had to complete their assignments.

“I would have been better off if I could have met my professor . He could have explained things to me,” said one student.

The University Financing Foundation is investigating how the explosion happened.

Reports from an environmental consulting company stated investigators found a solvent in three different samples that’s similar to gasoline. However, they said the amount discovered wasn’t enough to set off an explosion.
