Rain has ended for the morning; wave two this afternoon

This afternoon and evening

You'll see a break from storms for much the morning with scattered storms re-developing after lunch. There could be scattered storms during rush hour when you drive home later today. Rainfall will again be locally heavy and travel along the interstates will be terribly slow.

Flash flood watch

A flash flood watch is now in effect for cities and counties south of Atlanta through Friday night, with 1-3 inches of total rain possible. 

What about severe weather?

Isolated severe storms will be possible again later this afternoon and evening. The weather threats will be mainly heavy rain and lightning, with isolated strong winds, hail and an isolated tornado possible later this afternoon.
