BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for two men who were reported missing after a boating trip on the Georgia coast.
Petty Officer Second Class Anthony Soto said in an emailed statement Sunday that 61-year-old Charles Morgan and Cliff Morgan, who is in his mid-40s, failed to return from a trip near Altamaha Sound, which is northeast of Brunswick.
Soto says the men were riding in a 19-foot long white pleasure craft and were reported missing by Charles Morgan's girlfriend. The two began their trip Saturday morning and were expected to return Saturday evening.
Soto says authorities are searching for the men by boat and helicopter. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the McIntosh County Sheriff's Office have also been called in for assistance.
