The first week of August was a deadly week for teens in metro Atlanta. Since Sunday, CBS46 has covered the shooting deaths of at least five teenagers.

The first victim was 18 year old Dylan Scott. He was gunned down in northwest Atlanta late Sunday night. Scott's body was found lying in the middle of Mayson Turner Rd.  Hours later, 17 year olds Natalie Henderson and Carter Davis were shot and killed behind a Roswell Publix. On Tuesday night, 15 year old Keaira Palmer was killed after getting caught in crossfire during a shooting in Decatur. The latest incident happened Friday afternoon when 16 year old Kashara Parks was killed.

Scott's mother, Stacey Watson says an end to this senseless violence starts at home.

“There’s nothing in the street that says 'I love you.' You have to get that from home. So if you do nothing else, tell your kids you love them everyday,”

According to teen shooting deaths throughout the country are up from 2014.

One woman who asked she not be identified saw Palmer die. She says it's gangs that are causing much of the violence.

"We talk to much about black lives matter but it's black lives killing the black lives," she said.

Another woman who attended a vigil for Palmer plead that people stop using guns to solve problems.

"Put the guns down and stop fighting because you're killing innocent children."
